Collaborative Vocology Outreach Award

The Pan American Vocology Association (PAVA) and The Voice Foundation are proud to announce the Collaborative Vocology Outreach Award, a joint initiative designed to support collaborative outreach projects that promote vocal health and development in communities. This prestigious award encourages interdisciplinary collaboration among voice professionals, including choral directors, performers, scientists, healthcare practitioners, and teachers.

Award Purpose
Funding Description

The goal of this award is to encourage collaborative outreach projects in voice by voice professionals including choral directors, performers, scientists, healthcare practitioners, and teachers. Projects will involve outreach to individuals or communities through singing, theatre, public speaking, or other voice-related endeavors to foster both well-being and vocal development and health. The award is jointly supported by the Pan American Voice Association and the Voice Foundation. Proponents may include students. The role of each proponent should be defined clearly, and goals should be stated clearly in the proposal.

Award Information

A well-structured budget with appropriate justification for expenses should be included in the proposal. The funds will not cover the salary of the proponents or purchase of computers. Hardware/software related to the project/analysis may be included. The project should be completed within one year. The award will be announced at both PAVA and Voice Foundation Symposia. The outcome/product will be submitted for presentation at the PAVA or Voice Foundation Symposium during the calendar year following the year in which the award is given, on a rotating basis (e.g., award announced at Voice Foundation Symposium in May/June and at PAVA Symposium the same year; the outcome/product will be presented/demonstrated the following year at the Voice Foundation Symposium in May/June, in even years, and at the PAVA Symposium in odd years). If the project is not complete, the status of the project should be presented during the relevant Symposium. Recipients may elect to present the work at both Symposia. Publications resulting from the project should be submitted for possible publication in Journal of Voice.
